The Genesis of the Gurney Institute

During Carol's multiple decade journey as an Animal Communicator and teacher, she often encountered a great deal of discrepancy as to what exactly Animal Communication was and what was involved in becoming an Animal Communicator. She also found, at times, a lack of accountability and credibility that not only relegated Animal Communication to the New Age fringes of society, but also made it hard for people to find a "good" Animal Communicator. So it became her mission to create a program that not only gave her students a solid foundation to work from but also developed standards to help Animal Communication to be better understood and respected throughout the world as a legitimate form of communication between humans and their animal companions.

The Goals of the Gurney Institute

The Mission of the Gurney Institute is very simply to be the Leader in the Animal Communication Industry, setting the standards of quality, integrity, and training. Through the Institute Carol Gurney has created a well-known and respected resource, carefully designed to provide support for anyone interested in developing their skills.  The Institute's team of leaders work with everyone from Industry professionals, like veterinarians and trainers, to people looking to become Certified Animal Communicators and even those with a casual interest in the art.

And all of this, of course, has been created for the ultimate purpose of giving the animals around the world an authentic voice, helping them to be better understood and respected.

What You Can Expect During Your Time at the Institute?

Each class is designed to be a unique and safe environment in which students are encouraged to speak freely and let go of their fears of being wrong or making mistakes. You will be gently led down the path to gaining the proof and confidence you need to recognize your own Animal Communication skills.

Whether you are taking a weekend workshop or enrolled in the HeartTalk Program® Certification Training our staff's compassionate, patient and nurturing teaching style will ensure that you receive the tools you need to be successful. You also work at the pace that suits your needs, allowing your Animal Communication training to blend perfectly with your current lifestyle.

Another important aspect of the training program is our extensive focus on counseling skills. In many cases, students of Animal Communication learn how to communicate with animals but they lack the ability to effectively communicate with the human companion and handle the delicate issues that may arise such as a lost animal or the death of a beloved animal. Graduates of The Institute finish their training with the tools needed to handle any situation that may arise during a session.

Finally, our students are given continued support after they graduate from the HeartTalk Program® Certification Training. Through additional resources, consultations, referrals, and opportunities in the field of Animal Communication our graduates are given the support they need to ensure their continued success as Animal Communicators.
